I love a clean, organized home and so I really love checklists. This cleaning service checklist is what Darling Dusters professional home and office cleaning service in Colorado Springs uses to ensure our clients always have a maintenance-clean home.
Maintenance-clean is what I consider clean but not everyone has the same definition of ‘clean’. It is a relative term. Some would say a room is clean if everything is in its place, even if there is dust on the ceiling fan and the floor hasn’t been swept, vacuumed or mopped in weeks. Some might consider a room clean if the floors and furniture were all dusted and wiped but there may be a blanket on the floor and a couple of toys lying around. I am of the latter opinion but for us to have a baseline to effectively communicate with our clients I will define maintenance-clean. It is when your floors have been cleaned in the last week, your showers, sinks, mirrors, dusting…have all been done in the last 7 days. This would mean that if you performed this cleaning service checklist each day/week/month/year, you would have a clean home because you have performed maintenance to keep it such. You could even say you never have to deep clean because you merely perform maintenance tasks on a rotating schedule.
I am going to format this list as daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and bi-annual…you can assign specific tasks to specific days/months/weeks to fit in your schedule or you can just use the list as a reminder when you are cleaning.
daily
- dishes washed
- counters and stove-top wiped
- coffee maker cleaned/rinsed
- floor spot-cleaned (I love my swiffer-vac for this!)
- pet bowls cleaned
- make beds
- tidy all rooms (fold blankets, fluff pillows, put away toys and clothes)
- spot clean sinks
- complete 1 load of laundry
- vacuum/sweep high traffic areas as needed
weekly
- sweep and mop all hard-surface floors
- vacuum all carpeted floors and stairs
- vacuum or shake any accent rugs which cannot be laundered
- wash bathroom mats, wash any other rugs or mats that need it
- wipe backsplash/kitchen walls over counters
- wipe fronts of all cabinetry, furniture and appliances
- clean and sanitize inside and outside of microwave
- dust all baseboards and light fixtures
- clean window over sink and glass on back door
- wipe outside of trash cans
- sanitize all sinks
- clean and shine cook top/control panel/control knobs
- dust tops of cabinets/decor/anything hanging on walls
- launder bedding
monthly 
- wipe and vacuum out vents
- wipe doors
- washing machine cycle without clothes (use vinegar)
- dishwashing cycle without dishes (vinegar)
- self-clean oven and wipe inside
- clean insides of trash cans and wastebaskets
- launder throw blankets
- sanitize light switches and doorknobs
quarterly
- vacuum along baseboards with angle tool
- wipe baseboards with multi-purpose cleaner or wood conditioner
- launder quilts and comforters
- launder pillows
- descale coffee maker
- clean out and wipe inside of fridge
- change air filters
bi-annually
- wipe ceiling fans and light fixtures with multi-purpose cleaner
- clean inside and outside of windows and tracks
- clean burner grates and drip pans
- wipe all decor
- clean the insides of closets and cabinets
- wash shower curtains
- replace batteries in smoke detectors
